Phuket's Patong beach is one of the most known and most busy one, you can have what you expect on a beach, like swimming, sun bathing, paragliding, jet ski etc.

There are always some women running after you to offer massage on the beach, you will hear this massage offering continuously.

When you are fed up with this and want to have a calm afternoon go to one of the small beaches north of Patong Beach, maybe between Kamala Beach and Surin Beach. Kamala Beach and Surin Beach are rather busy too as you can see at the pics here.

A beautiful smaller beach is Nai Harn Beach, this beach has a marvelous sand. There are many other beaches in Phuket like Kata Beach, Karon Beach and dozens of others.

Sometimes the weather at Phuket's west coast brings strong winds at that time beaches are closed down.Actually there are many who don't care and see this as just the right stuff to take the surfboard out and have a real surf.

The best waves are at Kata Beach just south of Karon Beach.

You can easily do some beach hopping using a " motocyc taxi" - Thaiglish- for small motorbike, you will find this kind of transportation everywhere and its quite cheap to move around with. If you are two, no problem, in Thailand I already have seen six Thais driving on one motorbike, no one thinks about it.

But very important, wear a helmet if you are the driver, the police will fine you merciless and they are right to do so, there are too many bad accidents every day, mainly with this motorbikes.
